IVAC's Request to the Illinois Immunization
Advisory Committee
Illinois Vaccine Awareness Coalition (IVAC) members ask the Immunization Advisory Committee to recommend to the Department of Public Health that:

• Committee members have no financial ties to vaccine manufacturers.
• A change in the chickenpox vaccine mandate recommendation vote to (5 to-1) because member Alissa Strauss voted yes after accepting a "$10,000 unrestricted educational grant for the activities of the Chicago Area Immunization Campaign from July 1, 1999-June 30, 2000 from Merck…," the manufacturer of the chicken pox vaccine.
• Vaccines containing mercury be immediately withdrawn from the market.
• Discussions focus on vaccines' ingredients, warnings, adverse reactions, long-term safety studies and mandatory vaccinations versus civil rights.
